Robert Roethenmund
MI'77

Exploration has been an avid interest of Robert from a very young age and this interest continues to gain momentum. Early on as part of the Operation Drake program he led a 9 month expedition to New Guinea where they were tasked with discovering the whereabouts of several planes downed during WWII. During the course of this mission they also identified what was at the time the largest coal field ever discovered. Since then he has spent much time in Asia trekking the silk road, traversing the Taklimakan desert and seeking the remote land known as Shangrila.
