Julian by profession is a full time explorer and adventurer.
He is also a Cultural Anthropologist, a published author,
a documentary filmmaker, a photographer, a Fellow with The
Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British
Geographers) and an International Fellow with the Explorers
Club. He has travelled overland through more than eighty-five
countries around the globe and has to date been the expedition
leader of six expeditions to the African continent, three
of which were Explorers Club Flag Expeditions. His 2008 Mount
Stanley Expedition is accredited by The Ugandan Wildlife Authority
for establishing a new route down from Uganda's Rwenzori Mountain
Range to the Nile proving conclusively the long held belief
that the glaciers are indeed a true source of the river. Currently
Julian is planning two expeditions for 2011, ‘Across
The Gambia - The Gambia River Expedition’, a trek from
the river's source on the Fouta Djallon Plateau of Guinea
across Senegal and The Gambia to the Atlantic Ocean, and 'The
2011 Walk Across Africa Expedition' which iis believed to
be the first recorded solo and unassisted traverse expedition
ever attempted along a route crossing Angola, Dr Congo, Zambia,
Malawi and Mozambique along a route.
